Maple Meatloaf from Canadian Organic Maple Co. Ltd

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/3 cup milk
1 egg
½ cup dry bread crumbs
½ tsp salt
1 clove garlic, minced
pinch pepper
¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp soya sauce

Sauce:
¼ cup chili sauce or ketchup
¼ cup Water
1/3 cup maple syrup
½ tsp prepared mustard

Combine meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl. Place in a 1.5 l (9" x 5" x 3") loaf pan. Microwave at medium-high power (70%) for 5 min. Drain excess fat from meatloaf.

Combine chili sauce, water, maple syrup and mustard. Pour sauce over meatloaf and microwave, uncovered at medium-high power (70%) for 8 to 10 min., or until no longer pink. Let stand for 5 to 10 min. to complete cooking.

Serves 6
